Massachusetts pop punk heroes Four Year strong today announced their upcoming fifth album. After five years of waiting, fans will be treated to Brain Pain on February 28th via Pure Noise.

The groundwork for the album was laid two years ago, and the past year and a half have been spent bringing the ideas to life. “We didn’t want to set a strict deadline for this album because we wanted to be sure we took the time to write the best songs possible. In the past our writing and recording was so dependent on getting something out in time to go on tour; this time we really had the opportunity to take our time and work through these ideas,” says vocalist/guitarist Alan Day.

Possibly making a return to the band’s previous sound, they enlisted producer Will Putney who engineered the band’s 2010 album, Enemy of the World. “We were really emotionally invested in this music so we wanted to go with someone who we knew would care about it as much as we did and Will was that guy,” Day says.

Brain Pain is out on February 28th. Pre-order it here. Listen to the latest single from the album, ‘Talking Myself in Circles’, below. Catch the band performing at this year’s Slam Dunk Festival.
