We were telling you in October 2019 that, during a match with RUSH at an event celebrating the 64th Anniversary of the Coliseo De Monterrey in Mexico, La Parka suffered a brutal injury to his head and neck after a failed suicide dive attempt. Some said he would not last through the night, he kept fighting 2 more months before passing away on Saturday.
Jesús Alfonso Escoboza Huerta, in fact, never recovered from in-ring injuries that required immediate surgery for a neck and cervical fracture, along with a repair to a fractured vertebra. Parka had a renal failure on January 10th and was put back on assisted breathing, but then suffered lung and kidney failure on January 11th.
Huerta was the second La Parka. The original wrestled in WCW and AAA in the 90s and now goes by LA Park, who currently wrestles for MLW. During his career, Huerta was also known as La Parka II, La Parka Jr., and Maligno. He made his Lucha Libre AAA debut in 1995. In 2018, he appeared on an episode of Impact Wrestling. He held six different championships in AAA, won the Rey de Reyes tournament five times, won the Copa Antonio Peña, won the Copa Triplemanía XXV, and went undefeated (10-0) in Lucha de Apuestas for mask vs mask and mask vs hair.
