It’s the last week of November, and with less than a month until Christmas, you’re either stressing about your present shopping or stressing about the fact that you haven’t started your present shopping.
We’ve got a way to soothe all that stress and pressure though – our track of the week is All Ears Avow’s upcoming aptly-named groove rock single, ‘Pressure’ – out tomorrow.
“What exactly is groove rock?” I hear you ask. This year, bands like Issues and Slaves have been giving us material that can only be described with the term, and basically, groove rock is All Ears Avow.
Let’s be honest. Many bands at this stage in their careers make painfully average music before eventually finding their feet and settling on ‘their sound’. But All Ears Avow have had their niche from the very beginning with 2017’s Edge of This EP, and following on with last year’s Skin and Bones EP. ‘Pressure’ sees them further settle into their solid gold AEA-shaped mould.
Proving again that the Wiltshire bunch aren’t capable of making a bad song, ‘Pressure’ is synth pop-driven alt rock with gleaming vocals from frontwoman Claire Sutton. A perfectly baked cake of Automatic-era Don Broco meets The 1975 with the shiniest cherry on the top. It’s summer vibes in winter, and it’s what you need to get you through until the sun starts to shine again, and the days get longer.
All Ears Avow are one of the most exciting bands in the UK right now, and the band you need to be listening to. We can’t wait to hear what they have in store for 2020.
‘Pressure’ is out tomorrow (Nov 29th). Follow All Ears Avow on Spotify to hear it as soon as it drops. The band head out on tour in January. Dates are below:
