Underwire is the UK’s only film festival celebrating female filmmaking talent across the crafts.
For the opening night of Underwire’s tenth edition, Regent Street Cinema will be screening a series of short films followed by a Q&A from the female directors on Friday 13th September.
“We want to spotlight the mundane stories and everyday warrior queens we all have in our lives, those women who make small but important choices, who fight daily battles, who move forward, who don’t let self-consciousness keep them from enjoying themselves, who take risks to help other women, who take up space proudly, those don’t let the constant grind get to them and just keep going. We see you, and we salute you.”
Films in this screening include: A Secret Cinema, My Time, First Disco, Fayde, 10 Minutes For A Pound, Strength, Slingshot and Duck Daze
2019 / UK / 92 Minutes
Other films included in the Underwire Festival programme: On The Edge: The Films of Loran Dunn (September 14th at 6:30pm) and Little Truths (September 14th at 6:30pm)
