The Daily SteelChair Shot: AEW, WWE, NJPW, NXT, NWA (09/09/2019)

As announced to some media, WWE is keeping its partnership with Full Sail University going and even expanding it, as NXT on USA Network will be hosted at Full Sail Live. “Full Sail University has been invaluable to the success of NXT,” said Paul “Triple H” Levesque, WWE Executive Vice President of Talent, Live Events & Creative. “The passion we see from their students inspires our entire NXT roster and staff, and we are excited for the brand’s next chapter at Full Sail Live each week.”

The announcement explains “WWE and Full Sail University began their partnership in 2012. Since that time, Full Sail Live has played host to monthly NXT events, multiple NXT TakeOver specials and the Mae Young Classic and Cruiserweight Classic tournaments. In addition, the partnership has resulted in hundreds of hours of practical production experience for more than 1,200 students, multiple career networking opportunities for students and grads, and WWE has granted more than $400,000 in scholarships to Full Sail University students, which are applied toward the recipient’s areas of study within the university. The partnership will continue to deliver a real-world experience to students in all facets of broadcasting and television.”

“WWE is known the world over for being a leader in the entertainment industry, and as an educational partner to Full Sail University, they have served to inspire the next generation of production professionals that are being taught on our campus daily,” said Full Sail University President, Garry Jones. “With the latest announcement of NXT emanating from Full Sail Live each week and airing on the USA Network, we look forward to the expanded learning opportunities this will provide to our students.” NXT will now air weekly from Full Sail Live on USA Network starting, as previously announced, on September 18th.

NJPW will be adding another date to their LA tour this November. The first date was announced during the Super J Cup and revealed they’ll be hosting a show in San José on November 9th. This next show will be taking place in Los Angeles on November 11th. The Globe Theatre will host the show but no matches or ticket information have been announced just yet. We will bring you more information about the New Japan Showdown tour as we get it.

All Elite Wrestling has announced that AEW on TNT Episode 7 will air from the legendary Municipal Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee on Wednesday, November 13. WWE announced the following:

After a summer of ruthless sneak attacks and chaotic brawls, Matt Riddle and Killian Dain are now set to clash in a lawless Street Fight on Wednesday, Sept. 18, on the first live, two-hour edition of NXT. Since their rivalry began, the NXT Universe has witnessed The Original Bro and The Northern Ireland Nightmare crash through the entrance stage, render tables to toothpicks and brutalize each other with steel stairs. Dain won their only official one-on-one match last month by viciously targeting Riddle’s already-injured ribs, but despite the devastating beating, Riddle wanted more of The Beast of Belfast after the bell. Their melee continued outside the arena after NXT went off the air, only ending when Dain crushed Riddle beneath a steel ladder.

With it now abundantly clear that a standard match cannot contain the mayhem, the sports-entertainment world is in for an epic free-for-all when Riddle and Dain collide in a Street Fight in which disqualifications and count-outs will not apply. Which Superstar will back up his claim of being the toughest man in NXT when the rules are thrown out the window? Don’t miss this seismic brawl when NXT goes live on Wednesday, Sept 18! The first hour of NXT will air on USA Network at 8/7 C, and then the action will continue live on the award-winning WWE Network at 9/8 C.

The latest Being The Elite episode was put online. As you could see, Kenny Omega is a bit “off” as he’s still recovering from losing to PAC at All Out, and Luchasaurus has a problem with Barney the dinosaur.

NWA announced Colt Cabana will take part of Atlanta set of tapings on September 30 and October 1. NWA World Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis, Kamille, NWA National Champion James Storm, NWA World Women’s Champion Allysin Kay, Eli Drake and Ricky Starks have been announced for the tapings. In the video above, Cabana announces he’s already eyeing James Storm and his title. Cabana is a former 2-time the NWA World Heavyweight Championship and one-time NWA National Champion.
