Evanescence and Within Temptation are two of the most important names in bringing women to the forefront of heavier music over the past two decades, but surprisingly, they’ve never joined forces on stage before. That will change in the spring of next year, when the two bands embark on “Worlds Collide,” a co-headlining tour that will see them play a dozen shows in seven different European countries in April.
“We’ve had people ask us about doing something together for a long time,” said Evanescence lead vocalist Amy Lee about the tour. “Looking forward to hearing Sharon’s gorgeous voice every night!” Evanescence, who remains most famous for their 2003 international #1 hit “Bring Me to Life,” released their fourth and most recent album Synthesis in 2017 via RCA.
For Within Temptation, who has amassed a formidable seven studio albums since 1997, “Worlds Collide” will be the first full non-festival tour of Europe since the release of their newest full-length Resist in February 2019. Frontwoman Sharon den Adel expressed her excitement about touring with Evanescence: “I think we have a lot in common but most of all I’m sure that we share the same passion and fire for what we love doing most.”
The tour will start in Brussels on April 4 and include a date at London’s O2 Arena. A variety of VIP ticket packages are already on sale, with privileges including meeting the bands, attending soundchecks, and getting exclusive merch. The rest of the tickets go on sale Friday, September 20.
