Ken Shamrock is Heading Back to Impact Wrestling

For a few days, everyone has noticed Ken Shamrock and Moose were in the middle of a fight on Twitter. The feud started after Impact World Champion Brian Cage and Ken Shamrock were talking about a match. Brian Cage, Earnest The Cat Miller, Scott D’Amore, Tommy Dreamer, and Moose all got involved in the discussion. And what had to happen happened… The first-ever NWA-TNA Champion and UFC Hall of Famer is returning home for the first time in 15 years.

Former WWE and UFC star Ken Shamrock, 55, confirmed via Twitter on Friday that he will be part of Impact Wrestling’s two nights of TV tapings at Sam’s Town in Las Vegas, NV, on September 5th and 6th. Will he be wrestling? Will he just appear? Whatever, his coming in Vegas could be a build to a match between the two at October 20’s Bound For Glory show in Chicago.

As part of the 2002 launch of NWA-TNA, Shamrock won the vacant NWA World title in June 2002 and was recognized as their first champion, leaving after losing the belt to Ron Killings a few months later. He returned for a short stint in 2004 and has worked sparingly in independents over the past few years. Ken Shamrock returned to pro wrestling in November 2018. Since, he has been wrestling in Australia, Germany and the USA. In July, he announced the launch of Valor, his own bare-knuckle fighting promotion that will kick off in late September.

On if he still loves wrestling in professional wrestling, he recently said, “I do. I made my commitment. I told people that I was coming back and I’m not coming back for a short time. I’m coming back for the Heavyweight belt. Whether it is the NWA Heavyweight belt, the Impact Heavyweight belt, or the WWF Heavyweight belt. I told them I was coming back and I haven’t backed off from that. I’m making a run at it. I’ve gone to BCW and won Tag Team gold there and had an opportunity at the World Title. I’ve had opportunities in Germany, I’ve had opportunities in South Africa. And, back here in the States, there is trembling about some things that I might do here. So, the statement I made about being back in pro wrestling is something that I am interested in chasing for quite some time until I can’t do it anymore. But, I’m going to be doing that right alongside putting on great shows with VALOR Bare Knuckle.”
