The world is in shock today as they heard that iconic Prodigy frontman, Keith Flint, has died at the age of 49.

The Prodigy released a statement confirming the news, saying: “It is with deepest shock and sadness that we can confirm the death of our brother and best friend Keith Flint. A true pioneer, innovator and legend. He will be forever missed. We thank you for respecting the privacy of all concerned at this time.”

Liam Howlett, who formed the group in 1990, confirmed his death was a suicide. “The news is true, I can’t believe I’m saying this but our brother Keith took his own life over the weekend,” he wrote on Instagram. “I’m shell shocked, fuckin angry, confused and heart broken…”

Celebrities and fans around the world have been flooding social media platforms with their shock and sadness, and sharing photos of their favourite Prodigy memories. One comment keeps appearing over and over again, any time they had met Keith over the years he was always an absolute sweetheart, the total opposite of what some would assume from his garish appearance.

Since 2017 we’ve lost Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell, actor Verne Troyer, DJ and producer Aviicii, and Linkin Park frontman Chester Benington to suicide.

Suicide is the most common cause of death for men aged 20-49 years in the UK and men still make up three-quarters of those who take their own life in this country.

Don’t be another statistic. Talk.
