BRITs week is back for it’s fifth year. The event, taking place over the course of a week funnily enough, puts on gigs with big names in small venues this February. This year features huge acts such as IDLES, The 1975, You Me At Six, Bring Me The Horizon, Tom Odell, Enter Shikari, Anne Marie and still more. All in intimate venues that these acts are now scarcely found performing in.
The event is all done in support of the War Child charity which last years BRITs week raised £650,000 for. It’s a great event for this reason alone, with Jim Benner of War Child UK saying “It’s amazing to see the music industry coming together once again to support children affected by conflict across the world”.
The event is supported by O2 who this year celebrate their 10th year of work with the War Child charity as O2 Chief Marketing Officer, Nina Bibby, says, “This year is a particularly special year for O2 as it marks our tenth year partnering with War Child. BRITs Week together with O2 continues to offer unforgettable live music experiences, with some of the biggest names in the industry performing in such intimate venues”.
So how can you see your favourite band at a super intimate show put on for a good cause? O2 Priority customers get early access on Wednesday the 16th with tickets going on sale Friday 18th. There is also a prize draw whereby fans who donate a minimum of £5 at www.britsweekwarchild.co.uk are entered to win tickets of their choice. This draw closes on Monday February 4th and can be entered as many times as you like. The money goes to good causes so it’d be rude not to!
