NXT UK on TV next week

WWE has just announced its first ever UK series, NXT UK, will stream on the WWE Network from next Wednesday, 17 Oct, 8pm BST. The show will feature the greatest male and female competitors from the UK.

The show will feature huge stars such as WWE United Kingdom Champion Pete Dunne, with the broadcast team also being joined by British broadcasting personality, Radzi Chinyanganya, known for his ongoing role as presenter on BBC’s Blue Peter.

Since the very first WWE United Kingdom Championship tournament in January 2017, the news have been more than expected. But the company took its time before creating a UK show.

The very first 16 participants were slowly introduced to the US wrestling world that had the chance to witness amazing matches on NXT TakeOver PPV and NXT weekly show, thanks to Tyler Bate, Trent Seven, Wolfgang or current WWE UK Champion Pete Dunne.

Things started to move a little bit faster when a second tournament was announced to take place last June. At the same time, Johnny Saint was appointed General Manager of WWE’s United Kingdom-based brand, cementing the creation the UK brand.

A few weeks after, it was announced that WWE’s United Kingdom-based brand would begin filming a new show titled NXT UK in July 2018, and that championships for the brand’s women’s and tag team divisions would be introduced. Tag team Champions have yet to be crowned.

At 506 days, Pete Dunne is still the UK Champion while Rhea Ripley was crowned the first-ever NXT UK Women’s Championship during August tapings. Tag team Champions have yet to be crowned.

WWE has built an impressive roster of talents with the 2 UK tournaments and also the Mae Young Classic ones. More than 20 male wrestlers and 10 female are ready to square off in the UK, but also worldwide thanks to WWE Network.
