We’ve been following The Kenneths for a while now and it just seem to be getting better and better for the punk trio. Having just come to the end of a 22 date UK tour supporting DEAD! they have just released their latest single and video ‘Favourite Ex’ which is off their upcoming EP Ex released April 20th.

The Kenneths are masters of blending old school punk with a fresh new sound and  ‘Favourite Ex’ is no exception. This exciting band are blowing up on social media, no doubt helped along by frontman Josh Weller‘s hilarious Instagram and Twitter posts.

Speaking of ‘Favourite Ex’, Josh says, “Favourite Ex was a song idea Aicha [Djidjelli – drums] had while we were recording our last EP with Bill Stevenson. Aicha and Bill went out on the razz after she’d finished her drum parts, Aicha was talking to Bill about her favourite ex and he said ‘that’s an amazing song title!

The song lyrically is about looking back at the ruins of a relationship and realising what you had was actually pretty special. It’s a break-up song, but looking back with a bit of nostalgia, and a bit of vinegar. I think everyone has a favourite ex. That person who for some reason or another you feel like you cocked it up with.”
