After the recent arrivals of Johnny “Mundo” Impact, Taya Valkyrie and Texano, another Lucha Libre AAA Superstar is about to debut on Impact Wrestling. “El Rey Extremo” Pagano is coming and, like GFW is quoting in its statement, “the rest of the IMPACT roster should be a little frightened”.

The Mexican Luchador joined AAA last year but worked throughout Mexico independent circuit before. Pagano is renowned for his Hardcore wrestling style and his love of weapons and blood. He recently took part of AAA’s annual show, Triplemania XXV.

Pagano started wrestling in 2008 with a clown mask. He developed his hardcore style very soon, forming a group known as “Hardcore Pride” with Sick Boy, SKAM-13 and Murder Angel. In 2010, he worked for Atlanta World Wrestling Alliance, training with Curtis Hughes and also winning New Latino Wrestling Mexicano Championship.

Pagano lost his mask in December 2011 in Panama in a Lucha de Apuestas match (a bet match, usually a mask vs. mask match) against a local wrestler. He lost it again back in Mexico in a Steel Cage match. Ever since he has been painting his face to resemble a clown for his matches.

Pagano continued to work for independent promotions in Mexico. But in 2015 and 2016, he debuted in 2 major Mexican promotions, FULL (Federacion Universal de Lucha Libre) and IWRG (International Wrestling Revolution Group), where he worked with legendary luchadors like La Parka and Dr Wagner Jr.

Pagano made his first appearance in AAA on March 2016 at Rey de Reyes event, attacking Pentagon Jr. He quickly started to feud with the Psycho Circus, the stable of Psycho Clown, Murder Clown and Monster Clown, because all of them were using the same clown ring character.

On May 2017, he became AAA World Tag Team Championship with El Mesías. But the two started to feud when they lost the title. It culminated last weekend when Pagano and Mesias competed in the main event of TripleMania XXV in a Street Fight. As the match ended in a no contest, their feud seems to be an unfinished business.

But for the moment, GFW Impact Wrestling is delighted to welcome “a man to fear, highly-skilled in the form of hardcore wrestling, using various weapons to inflict pain on his opponents”. Well, “dangerous and unpredictable”.
