Today, we got the second full trailer for the upcoming Blade Runner 2049. Have a watch:

Anyone else find it weird how trailers now have mini trailers at the start of the actual trailer? Publicity companies are taking that habit of releasing trailers for trailers earlier in the week to a new extreme. It’s trailer-ception.

Quibbles aside, alongside more gorgeous footage courtesy of Arrival director Dennis Villeneuve (one of VultureHound‘s top films of 2016), the trailer delivers more action and drops a hint about a question Blade Runner fans have been wondering for the past thirty-five years; namely, is Harrison Ford’s Deckard a ‘replicant’?

“We’re being hunted!” Deckard tells Ryan Gosling’s Officer K, before the pair are ambushed and the trailer delves into more explosions and action-packed scenes – leaving viewers desperate to know who he was talking about. Does the ‘we’re’ refer to replicants (and is that in itself a confirmation that Deckard is a replicant – Ridley Scott said this film would provide the answers) or does it refer to the detectives involved in replicant cases? Or even humanity in general, being hunted by their replicant replacements.

This trailer is such a tease. We’ll just have to wait until October to get our answers.

Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.

Blade Runner 2049 hits cinemas October 6th 2017.
