Curb Your Enthusiasm has officially been announced to return to television screens on October 1st.
The long awaited return of Larry David will come in the form of a 10-episode season 9, and it’s sure to be pretty…pretty…pretty good. Season 9 was originally green-lighted in June 2016 with David at the time stating “In the immortal words of Julius Caesar, ‘I left, I did nothing, I returned.'” The teaser trailer released by HBO for the announcement plays upon that statement in true Curb style.
David’s long-running, two-time Emmy-winning comedy Curb Your Enthusiasm became a full-fledged series after the success of an HBO special in 1999. Since season eight wrapped in 2011, David has stared in the HBO original movie Clear History as well as making an appearance as Sen. Bernie Sanders on Saturday Night Live in a sketch entitled ‘Bern Your Enthusiasm.’
Fan favorites Jeff Garlin, Susie Essman and JB Smoove are set to reprise their roles with Garlin also executive producing alongside David and Jeff Schaffer. Filming finished up earlier this year.
The new season of the HBO series will launch on Oct. 1 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
