Fresh from the success of Gorillaz‘ sold out show at Demon Dayz this weekend, Margate’s Dreamland has announced its first acts for this year’s By The Sea Festival that will be held 29th Sept-1st Oct.

From Foals and Hot Chip in 2015, to Super Furry Animals and Wolf Alice last year, the seaside weekender will play host to The Libertines, Metronomy and Everything Everything, with many more acts to be revealed soon.

Margate has come alive in the past year as the town’s revival of art and culture continues to flourish. Retro funfair Dreamland re-opened at the end of May, with a live show from Maximo Park. Dreamland will also see Kentish punk duo Slaves play on July 22nd, with indie rock band alt-J gracing the stage in early September.

Given the success of the last two By The Sea weekends, expectations for this year’s turnout are high, especially as it will be the first time that the festival will span over three days. As ever, their first announcement sparks promise of even more incredible bands and guest stars to see (last year saw Jarvis Cocker DJ on the dodgems), and with full access to the fun of the fair, you really can’t go wrong.

Tickets go on sale this Friday at 9am. For more info check out bytheseafestival.com.
