Festival season is approaching and it all kicks off this May Bank Holiday (27th – 28th) with Common People. The two day festival founded by the Bestival team will be bringing music, food and the world’s biggest bouncy castle to the Southampton Common for the third year running. (The festival will also be held on the same weekend at South Park, Oxford)
Headliners are Pete Tong and The Heritage Orchestra on Saturday and Sean Paul on Sunday. The weekend will include main stage performances from singer/songwriter Tom Odell and indie rock powerhouse, Wild Beasts, as well as DJ sets from Faithless and Groove Armada. A strong line up once again.
Check out Pete Tong performing Ibiza Classics with The Heritage Orchestra, conducted by Jules Buckley:
There will be something for everyone with The Uncontained stage hosting acts such as Joy Orbison, Midland and My Nu Leng, while across the green will be the Uncommon Stage, hosted by Southampton’s prestigious venue, The Joiners. Last year saw this stage alive with pure passion, so we’re mega excited to catch bands like The Magic Gang, Beans on Toast, Blaenavon and Brighton’s Black Honey (watch their latest video for ‘Somebody Better’ below).

Beyond the music is the scrumptious street food, vintage fun fair rides, the jam jar bar, face painting and of course the world’s biggest bouncy castle. There is never a dull moment at Common People and it only gets better; surely there’s no other way to celebrate your May Bank Holiday?
