It’s been 483 days since the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens and 81 days since we found out Episode VIII would be called The Last Jedi. Now, with 244 days, 5 hours and 26 minutes to go until the release of The Last Jedi (at the time of writing this post – you’ll notice a recurring theme of excitement if you’ve checked the above link), the first teaser trailer for the film has landed, fresh from the Star Wars Celebration in Orlando, Florida.

While the teaser is pretty sparse on details, much like the first teaser for The Force Awakens, it does give us more of an idea of who ‘the Last Jedi’ are; it’s not so much Luke, Rey or Kylo Ren (as some have suggested) but a choice that Luke seems to be making, and one heralding an evolution of the Star Wars franchise.

But for now, a glimpse at each of our favourite characters will have to be enough, as we continue to count down the days until the next episode on the Skywalker saga. And thank the Force, Luke will actually speak this time.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi flies into cinemas on the 15th December, 2017.
