Indie-folk artist The Lion and the Wolf has dropped a short, sweet and very intimate video for his latest single, ‘A Walk on the Moon’.

In a modern age where indie-folk songs are usually the saccharine soundtrack to goldenrod-tinted, Instagram-esque videos that portray a flattering image, it’s oddly refreshing to get something raw and personal. The Lion and the Wolf does not spend much time trying to look excessively glamourous in the video; the shot is initially poorly lit and the video itself seems to be the pre-filming ritual of many an indie artist. This pretty much subvert every expectation and makes for a very pleasant surprise.

It’s a whimsical single with an authentic video, stripping back the glamourous modern facade and exposing the unfiltered – and actually pretty dull – reality. And there’s a dog, which improves everything tenfold.
