5* Wrestling announced that Kurt Angle has cancelled his appearance at this Saturday’s Dundee show that is live at 8pm on Sike TV.

Their Facebook page announced the cancelation earlier today;

At 16:04 today I received a call from Kurt Angle’s management team confirming the rumours that Kurt will not be commentating on the debut episode of Dominant Wrestling, which airs live on Spike TV at 8pm this Saturday, from the Dundee Ice Arena.
It’s a shame but we would like to congratulate Kurt on his Hall of Fame appointment.
Losing a star as respected as Kurt is obviously a blow to us but fortunately he was booked as a commentator rather than a wrestler so it’s not like this will make much of a difference to this historic event.
Fans at the Dundee Ice Arena and indeed around the UK, will still get to witness John Morrison issuing an open challenge for his 5 Star Championship and with megastars such as Rey Mysterio, Drew Galloway, Carlito, PJ Black, Nick Aldis and Moose on the show, anything can happen.
Greg Lambert, with his encyclopaedic knowledge of wrestling will still lead the broadcast team as planned.

Although a less than situation 5* Wrestling still has an abundance of international and homegrown talent such as Rey Mysterio, John Morrison (Champion), Drew Galloway, Jay Lethal, Nick “Magnus” Aldis, Carlito, Joe Coffey, Jay Lethal, PJ Black, Mark Haskins, Joe Hendry, Kid Fite, Jack Jester and Jimmy Havoc will all be on show.

This news comes after WWE announced that Angle would be in this year’s Hall of Fame and is no doubt going to start rumours about Angle’s potential appearance at the Royal Rumble. While a surprise of this calibre would be a very exciting prospect in reality it is most likely due to conflicting TV network and WWE Network schedules and contracts. IPWUK and WCPW suffered similar inconveniences recently due to the WWE expanding its reach into the UK wrestling market and does not want contracted performers appearing on other promotion’s broadcats events.

5* Wrestling is live from Dundee, Scotland. The two-hour special will air from 8pm-10PM on Saturday 28th on Spike TV.
