For the past week the chilled out, infectious rhythms of Salt Cathedral‘s latest single, ‘Unraveling’, has been stuck on repeat on the VH jukebox. The track, featuring acclaimed Hasidic Reggae vocalist Matisyahu, is just the latest track to showcase the eclectic mix of genres and influences pouring out of the Colombian born duo’s Brooklyn studio.

Their most recent EP, Homage, released earlier in 2016, was a perfect storm of dark electropop and dazzling complex rhythms – but with the release of ‘Unraveling’, the uplifting, dancefloor influence of the duo’s Columbian upbringing is starting to shine though.

“Dancing is ingrained in our culture” the band explain. “We dance on weekends, at family gatherings, on New Years, and some even dance on Christmas. As we started to write new music, we realized we wanted to write songs people could move to –– music that felt uplifting and fun.”

So with this in mind, Vulture Hound asked Juliana and Nico to put together some dance inspiring party tunes for our latest Guest Playlist.

Prepare to dance your way through these dark, cold December nights.

Branko – ‘On top’ (Ft. Zanillya, Capadose & The Ruffest)
From his latest album Atlas, Branko delivers a very emotional danceable song. We’ve been fans of him since we heard Buraka som Sistema. Incredible producer with a unique voice in music.

Lao Ra – ‘Bang Boom’
Colombian singer doing amazing music. We’re looking to collaborate with her in the future. Check the video for this song. It’s very beautiful and colorful!

Bomba Esteréo – ‘Somos dos’
Another colombian group that has transcended boundaries with their intense attitude and party vibes. In this case, Somos Dos does quite the opposite. It reflects the nostalgic/romantic side of caribbean vibes.

IFÉ – ‘3 Mujeres (Iború Iboya Ibosheshé)’
This song caught our attention because it sounds like a futuristic Cuba. Being fans of cuban music, this song is on another level.

Buraka Som Sistema – ‘Hangover (BaBaBa)’
From the Komba album, Buraka´s Hangover track is the one makes us go wild. The video shows the vibe of Buraka. Go and check it.

Isa GT, Lido Pimienta – ‘El Monito’ (El Dusty Cumbiatech remix)
El dusty remix of this song is has a great party vibe and Lido sounds so good on this one.

Sean Paul, Dua Lipa – ‘No lie’
I guess this is our post-summer song. Period.

Major Lazer, MØ, Justin Bieber – ‘Cold Water’ (Don Omar Remix)
How can you make Cold Water better? Put reggaeton star Don Omar and make it more romantic.

Kali Uchis – ‘Know What I Want’
Reggae vibes from Kali. We’re very in love with her style and voice!
Pure magic.

Matisyahu – ‘Carry me’ (Ft. Salt Cathedral)
We made this song with Matis’ in a second. It’s part of his EP Release The Bound. Go and check it out!

Mark Ernestus’ Ndagga Rhythm Force – ‘Ndiguel’
African music, dub, techno and Mark Ernestus on top of this?

Ashanti Afrika Jah – ‘Onyame’
Nigerian 70s vibes. Nico is very influenced by this type of guitar style.

Santigold, Beastie Boys – ‘Don’t Play No Game That I Can’t Win’
This is one of our favorite collaborations. The Beastie Boys’ sound works insanely well with Santigold.

Popcaan – ‘Fresh Jordan’
Popcaan is King. Anything that he’s in, were listening to.

Gyptian – ‘Hold you – Hold Yuh’
This is song was our jam for the summer. Very colorful and a great way to end up the playlist. Hope you enjoy!
