deadcross - Lombardo, Patton, Pearson

Former Slayer drummer, Dave Lombardo, has recruited Faith No More‘s Mike Patton to front his latest musical project, DEAD CROSS.

The Southern Californian outfit, which Lombardo formed in 2015, also features bassist Justin Pearson (formally of The Locust, Some Girls and Retox), and Michael Crain (Retox, Festival of Dead Deer).

Now, with the addition of vocal power house, Patton, god only knows what noise awaits us as the band, along side producer Ross Robinson, begin work on their debut album, set for release next year.

Until then, let us indulge in the individual parts that make up this incredibly exciting project:

Mike Patton’s appearance on The Dillinger Escape Plan EP, Irony Is A Dead Scene.

Slayer’s ‘Angel of Death’ – The definitive proof of Dave Lombardo’s status as a drum god.

The sonic chaos of Pearson’s The Locust.

Pearson and Crain with noise punk band, Retox.

Lombardo, who recently sat behind the kit for the Misfits reunion shows, is also spending this week as the guest drummer on Late Night with Seth Meyers.

The debut album from DEAD CROSS is due some time in 2017 via Patton’s own label, Ipecac Recordings.
