Ever since the last festival goer staggered out of DOWNLOAD last year, anticipation was high for this years line up and that excitement grew when fans knew names would announced tonight at 7pm.
Bookmakers and various music outlets have been guessing at who could be leading the main stage and when announcement were made for DOWNLOAD France Anticipation grew even more.
Returning to Donington Park in Leicestershire, the three-day festival will run between June 9th to the 11th. Last year fans saw Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden and Rammstein headline the event with Kiss, Muse, and Slipknot doing the same the year before.
Yesterday Download Festival France added Linkin Park and Blink-182 to the list of headliners, along with System of a Down who were previously announced. It should be noted that last year Rammstein and Iron Maiden headlined at both the UK and French festivals, while Black Sabbath only performed at Donington.
This year, DOWNLOAD confirmed that their headline acts will be:
On Friday 9th June – System of a Down.
On Saturday 10th June – Biffy Clyro.
On Sunday 11th June – Aerosmith.
With bands Slayer, Prophets of Rage, Rob Zombie, Five Finger Death Punch and many, many more to perform over the weekend.
Fans are still hoping Guns N’ Roses will join them as as it’ll be their 30th anniversary of their debut album, Appetite for Destruction. Another contender is Metallica, whose new record Hardwired… to Self-Destruct is released November 18, so with it being he band’s 10th studio album and first since 2008, odds are high for a tour over the summer.
