It’s been announced that Daisy Ridley and Johnny Depp have been cast in Kenneth Branagh’s adaptation of the the Agatha Christie classic Murder on the Orient Express.
Ridley has been the focus of many people’s interest after her breakout role in last years Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Despite initial reports that Ridley was in the running to play Lara Croft, the role eventually went to Alicia Vikander, leaving people to wonder what’s next for the young movie star.
Depp, meanwhile, is continuing his high profile career in spite of his scandals in his personal life, and the trailer for his next outing as Captain Jack Sparrow was released earlier today.
In the upcoming detective movie, Depp will be playing the character Ratchett, while Ridley will be playing Mary Debenham. They will be joining an all-star cast of Michelle Pfieffer, Judi Dench, Michael Peña, Tom Bateman, Derek Jacobi and director Branagh himself, who stars as renowned detective Hercule Poirot.
Currently in pre-production, Murder on the Orient Express is due for release on 22nd November 2017.
