Ghost Rider Will Appear in Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD

Marvel Entertainment has announced at San Diego Comic-Con 2016 that the character of Ghost Rider will be appear in the fourth season of the hit ABC show Agents of SHIELD.

Gabriel Luna will be playing Roberto Reyes, who made his first appearance in 2014’s All-New Ghost Rider #1 from Felipe Smith and Tradd Moore – in that series, he was a young mechanic possessed by the Spirit of the Vengeance, using his powers to fight local gangs and win street races.

This marks a departure from previous live-action adaptations, which featured the Johnny Blaze incarnation of Ghost Rider and starred Nicholas Cage in the titular role.

“Season 4 will unquestionably be the series’ biggest, most ambitious story yet, and it all begins with the introduction of one of our greatest legacy characters in Ghost Rider,” said Executive Producer/Head of Marvel Television, Jeph Loeb. “When the Spirit of Vengeance rides into S.H.I.E.L.D., it’ll change everything.”

Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD is executive produced and co-created by Joss Whedon and Jed Whedon & Maurissa Tancharoen,and Jeph Loeb also serve as Executive Producers.

The show stars Clark Gregg as Director Phil Coulson, Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May, Brett Dalton as Grant Ward, Chloe Bennet as Agent Daisy Johnson, Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz, Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Jemma Simmons, Nick Blood as Agent Lance Hunter, Adrianne Palicki as Agent Bobbi Morse, Henry Simmons as Agent Alphonso “Mack” MacKenzie and Luke Mitchell as Lincoln Campbell.

Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD returns Tuesday, September 20 in its new timeslot, 10:00 PM ET on ABC.
