You remember Two Door Cinema Club, right? The band that dominated indie radiostations for a few years, until about 2013 where they seemingly dissolved into radio silence and we didn’t hear a peep from them? The band that made a debut album that featured some of the most infectious indie-dance hooks and guitar riffs of the last decade?

Good news – they’re back! But bad news (for some) – they’ve grown up and their sound has developed.

The band dropped their new single ‘Are We Ready? (Wreck)’ on June 14, and it turns out its the single that nobody quite expected. In the run up to their third studio album Gameshow, which is scheduled to be released October 14, TDCC have completely shaken off the shackles of indie-pop past and have taken a more electro-focused approach – even down to the new band image they’ve got going on.

The outcome is just as anthemic, just as uniquely TDCC, but oddly more sophisticated. The sounds born on ‘Sleep Alone’ have reached puberty and made for a strong – if a bit divisive – return for Two Door Cinema Club.
