Academy Award winner Jeff Bridges has confirmed via Twitter that he will appear in The Golden Circle, the sequel to 2015’s Kingsman: The Secret Service.

The Golden Circle will see Eggsy travel to the United States to work with the Statesman, the American counterpart to the Kingsman organization.

Writer and director Matthew Vaughn (Kick-Ass, X-Men: First Class) returns for the sequel, as does Taron Edgerton as Eggsy and Mark Strong as Merlin. Halle Berry will play Ginger, the head of Statesman, Pedro Pascal will play a Statesman agent called Jack Daniels, Julianne Moore will play the film’s antagonist, Poppy, and Channing Tatum has been cast in an unknown role. Sir Elton John will also make an appearance in the film and Colin Firth is expected to reprise his role as agent Harry Hart, aka Galahad.

The Kingsman series is based on the The Secret Service, a comic book written by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle is scheduled for release on 16 June 2017.
