Amber Arcades

Annelotte de Graaf, a.k.a Amber Arcades, has just shared new video for ‘Fading Lines’ the title track from her upcoming debut album.

Accompanied by a stunning new promotional video (directed by Gover Meit), ‘Fading Lines’ is the third single to be released from her debut LP. The Dutch singer’s previous single – the blissful, ethereal ‘Right Now’, was one of pure retro-pop brilliance and her follow-up once more highlights de Graaf as one of the brightest sparks in the dream-pop sub-genre (watch the video below).

Of the track, de Graff says; “The song is loosely inspired by my grandfather’s death…It’s about the feeling of being in an overwhelmed state, like you’ve been propelled free-fall into something you don’t understand for the most part, lines between memories and moments fading until it all turns into a gloriously incandescent blur. When Gover told me about his idea of recording a person dancing mid air, slowly falling up into the sky, I felt like this was the best possible way to translate this overwhelmed feeling into moving images. I never could’ve imagined it would turn out quite this beautiful though.”

Following her guest slot on Nada Surf’s recent UK tour, she’ll be back in the UK throughout the summer, including a headlining album release show on June 7th at The Lexington, London. She’ll also be at this year’s Great Escape Festival in Brighton, Green Man Festival in Wales and Dorset’s End Of The Road Festival in September.

Fading Lines is out June 3rd on Heavenly Recordings. You can pre-order the album here.
