The Winter Passing are a five piece Indie Rock band formed in 2012 from Ireland. They were playing to a packed room in Rescue Rooms on a Spring Sunday evening. The crowd were mainly a younger crowd, but, I wouldn’t say that their music was aimed at just the younger crowd.
Although the band weren’t the main act of the night, it was pretty clear that the band were known within the Nottingham music scene and the crowd were well in to their music; this was their fourth time playing in Nottingham. It’s easy to see why people are attracted to the band.
The vocals of the band are provided by brother-sister duo Rob and Kate Flynn and, add in some great musical ability from other band members, you have a great band that has an edge and provides something a bit different from other bands that are similar musical wise. The band were energetic and built a good rapport with the crowd which is always great to see at gigs. They are ones to watch out for and I can see them headlining the stage at Rescue Rooms in the not too distant future.
