Samm Henshaw

Last September Samm Henshaw released debut EP The Sound Experiment. A record of such blissful soul beyond his years, the London-based singer/songwriter has just released the first track from follow-up EP The Sound Experiment 2.

Entitled ‘Our Love’, this funky gospel number channels the likes of Stevie Wonder, D’Angelo and Frank Ocean. For a man so young, there’s a considerable amount of warmth and impressive range in his vocals, so it’s not surprising that 22-year-old Henshaw is being touted by many as one to watch in 2016.

Inspired by a childhood growing up as the son of Nigerian parents in South London, Samm described the influence behind the track; “I wrote ‘Our Love’ about a story my Dad tells from when he first started dating my Mum. His family didn’t approve, but he didn’t care.”

As well as the new EP, Samm is heading out on tour with UK headline and European dates, including appearances at this year’s Great Escape Festival in Brighton on May 20th, Best Kept Secret Festival in The Netherlands on June 18th, Belgium’s Rock Werchter on June 30th and Secret Garden Party in Cambridgeshire on July 22nd.

You can hear ‘Our Love’ and see full UK and European tour dates below. The Sound Experiment 2 will be released on July 15th via Columbia Records.
