Band of Skulls

Bassist Emma Richardson takes lead vocals on latest single ‘So Good’, as Band Of Skulls get ready for the release of album number four at the end of May.

This is the second track the Southampton three-piece have shared from their upcoming album By Default, after ‘Killer’ dropped last month. ‘So Good’ is, in fact ‘very good’. Richardson’s vocals delightfully play against verses of straight forward indie-jangle guitars before hitting us with a chorus that’s altogether funky and effortlessly cool.

After years of relentless touring in support of their first three albums, guitarist/vocalist Russell Marsden says of By Default“It’s definitely a new era. The first three records were like a trilogy, a piece of work in of themselves. We wanted to do those things, and we did them all. We took a breath, took a look at what we’d done, and started from scratch again.”

The band will also be hitting the road, hard, throughout 2016 with a huge tour of the UK, including appearances at Glastonbury, Brighton’s The Great Escape, Kendal Calling, supporting Stereophonics at Cardiff City Stadium in June and ending the year with a home-coming show in November at Southampton’s Boiler Rooms. See below for full tour schedule.

By Default is due out on May 27th via BMG. You can pre-order your copy here (physical CD), here (iTunes) and here (vinyl).
