Battle Royale is the 11th episode in the recent series of American Horror Story. We’ve had to wait a little bit longer to see it as they took a break over Christmas, but it was definitely worth the wait.

Liz Taylor and Iris are getting prepared to kill The Countess, and well, they try. Unfortunately, they accidentally kill Iris’s son in the process. Within the first ten minutes we are on the edge of our seats as Iris is holding her son on the pavement outside the hotel sobbing as is he slowly dying.

Of course, The Countess can’t die just yet. She’s saved by crazy Sally, who pulls the bullets out of Lady G’s leg and stitches it back up, no biggie. But she’s still weak, as she’s lost a lot of blood, so of course needs a big refill.

As their plan hasn’t worked out the way they hoped, Liz and Iris need a plan B. Ramona Royale is still trapped in the walls of the hotel, having escaped from her cage and still also wanting to kill The Countess. So, they go and free her and discover that she’s been feeding off ill children.

Luckily for Ramona, there is a familiar face checking into the hotel. If you’ve been a regular watcher of American Horror Story, you’ll be pleased to see that Queenie the witch is back. As she is a human voodoo doll, it’s going to be difficult to kill her, but luckily for Ramona she has Mr. March on her side and he effortlessly kills Queenie for her.

So, Ramona sucks all the blood out of the witch, and it works wonders. She pays a little visit to The Countess, who is on the mend, to obviously kill her. The Countess is aware of this, but it takes an unexpected turn and Lady G asks to be killed, but wants to be screwed first. Classic.

The most shocking part of this episode is when John comes out of the lift and shoots The Countess and kills her. He then adds her head to his collection and looks pretty pleased with himself. Mr. March is finally delighted that he now has The Countess for eternity and not just once a month like before. Ghosts galore.

With one more episode, I can’t possibly think what else could happen to shock me, but this series has been full of surprises so I expect there’s more to come.
