With the closest thing you could get if you asked for some Dance Rock, Eliza and the Bear are releasing new single Love Don’t Play Fair.

Sister Sledge fans would be pleased with the music, sounding as if it were ripped straight from one of their hits. However, it is precisely the kind of simple music that warrants recognisable music. As it offers nothing new musically, it would be nonsensical to throw originality at the background.

Vocals are a little echo-y but that is no doubt by design. The only time they do not echo is when the song ends. It’s end is so sudden you have to check your audio hasn’t just cut out.

The single is taken from EP Make It My Own, released June 21st. You can listen to it here.
