It’s just a month away now until we see what director Alan Taylor has made of the mythology of the Terminator series when Terminator Genisys is released on 2 July 2015.

The last trailer revealed a time traveling and alternate reality shifting plot which seems to play around with the chronology of the previous films. Whether or not this is a masterstroke or foolhardy remains to be seen but the film looks like a whole ton of fun.

Schwarzenegger is of course back in his most iconic role. With him is Jason Clarke as both hero and villain John Connor, Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor and J.K. Simmons – which is always a good thing.

Here’s the official synopsis – “When John Connor (Jason Clarke), leader of the human resistance, sends Sgt. Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) back to 1984 to protect Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke) and safeguard the future, an unexpected turn of events creates a fractured timeline. Now, Sgt. Reese finds himself in a new and unfamiliar version of the past, where he is faced with unlikely allies, including the Guardian (Arnold Schwarzenegger), dangerous new enemies, and an unexpected new mission: To reset the future…”

Terminator Genisys is in cinemas nationwide on 2 July 2015 via Paramount Pictures.
