Last night following PROGRESS Wrestling’s first Super Strong Style 16 Tournament this last week, the company put on sale tickets for their next event Chapter Twenty: Thunderbastard – Beyond Thunderbastard. Tickets went on sale at 10pm, little did anyone expect for the show to sell out the 700 capacity Electric Ballroom in 21 minutes, just showing that independent wresting in the UK is stronger than it ever has been in the companies own words “this. is. Progress”

You can read below an “official” statement from PROGRESS co-owner Jim Smallman:

“We’re not ones for formal press releases or statements or anything like that, so here’s just a few words from me – PROGRESS co-owner Jim Smallman – on behalf of myself and my fellow co-owners Jon Briley and Glen Joseph.

On the back of our first ever Super Strong Style 16 Tournament over the weekend, we didn’t think things could get any better. We’ve seen some of the best matches that our company has ever hosted and crowned a new number one contender in the winner of the tournament, Will Ospreay. When we put tickets for Chapter Twenty: Thunderbastard -Beyond Thunderbastard on sale at 10pm on Tuesday night we thought there would be a bit of a rush, but we didn’t expect things to move as rapidly as they did.

Our previous record for selling out the Electric Ballroom – 700
tickets – was 36 minutes. Our quickest ever sell-out in any venue
was 24 minutes at the Garage in Islington (350 tickets) for our final “Chapter” show there in January 2014.

Yesterday we sold out all 700 tickets in just 21 minutes. We are
utterly blown away by the enthusiastic support that are brilliant
fans have for our little company.

From the three of us – thank you so much!

Jim, Jon and Glen

This. Is. PROGRESS.”
