Today see’s the home media release of Tommy Lee Jones’ excellent western, road-trip drama The Homesman.
Hilary Swank starts as Mary Bee Cuddy a New Yorker who’s settled out west to find a new life for herself. Things haven’t quite gone to plan though, she remains unmarried and bored with the country life. After three local women lose their minds Mary Bee accepts the tasks of taking them on five week journey to a home. Chancing upon Tommy Lee Jones’ George Briggs with a noose around his neck she strikes a deal that she will save his life if he will accompany them (you know you’ve seen the trailer). The pair form an unlikely alliance and set out on a hazardous journey meeting a whole host of odd, murderous characters along the way.
