Welsh boys Peasants King have recently been announced as supports for the upcoming Young Kato tour. We caught up with vocalist Dan to get the PK down-low and find out how they’re feeling about the tour!

Just about to head out on tour with Young Kato how did that come about? How much touring have you got under you belts already?

We’ve been a band for almost 3 years now and played a lot of support shows on the way (Gabrielle Aplin, Twin Atlantic, Reading and Leeds festival). Last year we were lucky to support Young Kato in Cardiff and we got on really well with the lads. They have a really interesting blend of sounds that really caught our ears! This will actually be our first ‘full tour’. It’s going to be a special one for us, hopefully the first of many more to come!

Can you tell us a little about your EP?

Our First EP ‘Kingdom’ was recorded with Todd Campbell (People The Poet, Straight Lines, Exit International) back in 2012 and that really started everything for us. We only had 4 songs, so the recording process was pretty straight forward. With these 4 songs, no fan base and no gigs under our belt, we did everything we could to prepare the band and that we had a solid plan to move forward.

Our Second EP ‘Four Walls Are Home’ was a little different. We added a new face to the family bringing in a second guitarist Joshua Bowles. I (Dan) came into the practice room with the original versions of the songs and then the boys pointed out everything that was wrong with them, so we re-built them! Our sound stems from very different creative opinions. We have a blend of so many genres from Rock to Motown, House to Reggae. I think we really have a unique creative process when it comes to finalising the songs.

We’ve been in the studio finalising our debut album ‘David’ all to be revealed very soon. We have big plans regarding our next release and we can’t wait for people to hear it.

What would you like to be remembered for personally?
Writing timeless songs

How long do you spend in front of the mirror?
I’d need maybe 10 mins, but if you had asked our bassist Lewys Mann I’m sure he’d tell you an hour at least!

Favourite swear word?
Cunt. I just love how that word sounds. In Wales it’s not really an offensive word, but if you say it to someone who’s English… Wow you’re in shit! It’s definitely my favourite swear word.

Worst thing you’ve ever put in your mouth?
Has to be sand. I remember when I was a kid my mother would take me to the beach and, for some reason, I had an obsession of just putting everything and anything in my mouth. Sand was a bad idea. Don’t do it folks- ok?!

Pharrell Williams – Ninakupenda

Which Super-power would you most like?
Time travel

What would you name your autobiography?

Wembley Arena

Michael Jackson-  ‘Bad’

What was your first car?
Seat Ibiza 2003
