Kind of Like Spitting formed in 1996 in Portland, Oregon. The band, led by singer-songwriter Ben Barnett, regularly toured in the US and released twelve albums in seven years. They broke-up in 2006 but Barnett re-formed the band earlier this year. The current line-up consists of Barnett, (guitar/vocals), Brian Grant (bass) and Dante Johnson (drums).

Their first track in nearly a decade, the hard-hitting “Bullied By A Bee”, take a listen below, via the bands Sound Cloud. It’s impossible to avoid comparisons to other Indie rockers like Arctic Monkeys and Oasis, (especially when they’re the only Indie bands I’m aware of, not being an Indie fan!) but to KOLS this statement is a compliment as they bring Indie with feeling, with guts and with a true rock edge. You can hear some Beatles, some Nirvana and perhaps even a slight lean towards to musical ramblings of the newly re-imagined Frank Iero.

They said it best themselves; This track will help you imagine a simpler time, when you had to go to a record store and wear gym sock-scented headphones if you wanted to listen to music.”

The band will release their next LP “It’s Always Nice to See You” soon.
