In protest against the attack of freedom of speech and threats leveled toward screenings of the Seth Rogan/James Franco starring The Interview Secret Cinema is running a special one off screening on Sunday 21st December. All proceeds from the show will be going to Article 19, a global free speech charity.

“Secret Cinema passionately believes  in the freedom to create and is looking for partners to join them in hosting a simultaneous screening across the Globe with a view to strengthen the resolve of filmmakers and artists against the threat of censorship, and to stand in solidarity with artists whose freedom of expression is routinely curtailed” reads the official statement.

Previously in August this year Secret Cinema presented a special one-off screening of Dead Poet’s Society in the wake of Robin Williams death, the proceeds went to mental health charity Mind. Over £24,000 was raised.

For now the film remains secret. Participants are asked to wear dark suits and bring a ” small gift to give to a stranger.”

The London screening will be held at a secret location in East London with doors opening at 18.30pm . The cost of the show will be £25.00 per person. Audience members must be 15 years and above.
