Out with new music is Welsh sextet The Blackout. Releasing this short but sweet EP via Kickstarter fans had the opportunity to be part of the production of the record by pledging money and in thanks they received amazing goodies including the band performing at fans houses and even being named on the CD sleeve. With an overwhelming number of backers the band got even more support than they needed and managed to release the new record to their ever hungry fans.

Sounding like The Blackout we know and love, this record doesn’t divert off their past path, yet it still feels new and fresh. The EP sounds really clean and crisp and seems to have been recorded with a particular and special finesse. With the welcome addition to more of Sean’s screaming vocals on the new tracks, and an all round harder sound, The Blackout have come out of a difficult period in their career and embraced that to create this focused and heavier sounding new EP.

And all this for £2.49 ?!  It’s a fucking bargain. Go check it out.
