Andy Burrows - As Good As Gone (Single Review)

As Good As Gone, the first single from Andy Burrows’ new album Fall Together Again (out on October 12th)  is one of his best singles yet.

Whilst his previous music has always been brilliant, As Good As Gone has to be one of my favourites. More melodic and upbeat than singles from his stunning last album, Company (2012), this new piece seems to be a lot warmer and brighter than his last, which makes a pleasant change.

This track seems to be a lot more stand-out than his previous; perhaps it is the use of more instruments than merely an acoustic guitar, or maybe it is the hook of the chorus that makes you want to hit replay over and over again. What I love about Burrows’ music is how soft it is; it can be perfect for any kind of mood you are in. It cannot be condensed into one music category, which unfortunately can not be said for many other artists. Andy Burrows has managed to achieve the perfect versatility in his music that can both make someone feel better than they already do, or be the ideal backing soundtrack to a day when you just want to be alone.

And it seems that Andy Burrows is finally getting the attention he deserves; after releasing a huge ten players previously, working with music superstars such as Razorlight and We Are Scientists, being nominated for a BAFTA for his The Snowman and The Snowdog soundtrack and achieving four Radio 2 A-listed singles, he is going on tour around the UK in October.

As Good As Gone is available now on Spotify or to download when pre-ordering the album on iTunes.

Tickets go on sale for his tour on 29th August for Southampton, Manchester, Birmingham and London’s Dingwalls.
