The 2014 OXEGEN festival, one of Ireland’s biggest festival events, has been cancelled. A lack of suitable headlining acts has been cited as the reason for the cancellation.
A statement put on the official website said: “It is with regret that MCD announce that OXEGEN will not take place this year due to lack of suitable Headline Acts which combined with the financial demands by local agencies make it no longer viable to stage the Festival in its current form.”
The festival has been in decline for a while now with last years festival being scaled back to two days and receiving criticism for its choice of acts. Maybe we’ll see if they can pull it together next year.
