Following their recent foray into the top ten albums chart with the acclaimed Too Much Information, Maxïmo Park announce details of Random Regrets for Record Store Day on 19th April.
Record store day came into fruition in 2007n in the US, and the UK quickly followed suit, 2014 will see the seventh celebration of the UK’s unique independent sector. This is the one day that all of the independently owned record stores come together with artists to celebrate the art of music.
Armed with a recently sold out UK tour, a much vaunted resurgence and two playlisted singles under their collective belt, 2014 thus far has proven a successful one. The band have been confirmed for several festival appearances over the coming months and if their recent live showings are anything to go by, the band have lost none of their renowned exuberance.
The band have recently announced details of their new single, taken from current album Too Much Information, called Midnight on the Hill which will be out 12th May, check out the video.
A tale of young love, Midnight on the Hill twinkles into earshot on a raft of understated vocals before erupting into an epic salvo of sound that earmarks the track as the ‘one to watch’. Not a band to miss a tune, and the third in an infinite series of tracks from Too Much Information they have hit the mark in different ways – Midnight on the Hill, as one critic succinctly stated was their “epic rock ballad’.

Meanwhile, the band’s rescheduled Portsmouth show now takes place at Wedgewood Rooms on April 23rd and the guys will be back for the Hop Farm Festival, Kent in July.
