Fat White Family - Touch The Leather (Single Review)

Fat White Family – Touch The Leather (Single Review)

Earlier this month The Fat White Family hosted a delightful evening of musical variety down their local rehearsal space/boozer in Southwell, South London. According to witnesses there, this small intimidate Saturday night pub showcase (which also featured King Krule on the bill) will go down as one of the gigs of the year. Not a bad way to start the year.

On the strength of this word of mouth and their latest track ‘Touch the Leather’ I’ll be get myself down to one their conveniently placed shows as soon as I can. The track, which is released on March 3rd through HateHateHate Records, swaggers through the airwaves like the bastard son of Eddie Cochran and The Cramps. Strutting guitars, lightly placed but ominous organ and lead vocalist’s Lias Saudi croon, almost growl stand out. It’s a rockabilly inspired track that hints at some impending violence throughout.  If you wish to partake in this threat the band are heading out on tour in Feb.
