Peter Aristone – Sunlight (Single Review)

Just in time for the summer months, ‘Sunlight’ is the UK debut single of Slovakian singer-songwriter Peter Aristone.

A graduate of the Jazz Conservatory in Prague, Aristone has had several hits in his native country, even supporting Anastasia for her stadium gigs in Prague, Bratislava and Budapest. Now based in London, his recent material has been created with his writing partner Darren Berry (Razorlight side-project Zazoo and La Roux writer). Aristone has also been promoting his material in a series of acoustic sets at Paradise in Kensai Rise, north-west London.

Produced by Greg Haver (Manic Street Preachers), ‘Sunlight’ is a soaring and uplifting ballad, propelled by buoyant keys and Aristone’s smooth vocals.

Aristone had specific reasons for choosing ‘Sunlight’ as his UK debut, ‘My first single release in the UK had to be a song that meant something to me. ‘Sunlight’ is a perfect song for this time of year, optimistic, fun, and all about good times with friends. It’s an escapist track, but if you pick between the lyrics there is a bitter-sweet theme underneath’.

Aristone has also made his darker collaboration with Emma Ejwertz available as a free download via his Soundcloud page.

‘Sunlight’ is available July 29.
