Crystal Fighters' Basque Cave Rave

To celebrate the release of their new album ‘Cave Rave’ they’re going to play a really special one off show in a cave in the Basque countryside this summer – they’re throwing an actual cave rave!
Crystal Fighters have announced a very special performance to take place on 29th August 2013. In celebration of their second album ‘Cave Rave’, due for release on 27th May, the band will play a show deep within their spiritual home of the Basque countryside in a local cave outside Pamplona, Navarre. Crystal Fighters will perform live with special guests, and the party will continue through to the following morning.

To coincide with this announcement, the band have unveiled another brand new track from their forthcoming album, ‘LA Calling’ is now available via soundcloud:

From their inception the band have been inextricably linked to the Basque region. They wrote the ‘Cave Rave’ album over a two-month period in the Basque hills and their 2010 debut album ‘Star Of Love’ fused traditional folk music from the region with contemporary dance styles. Traditional instruments from northern Spain such as txalapartas and txistus are used both on the new album and as a centre point of their live shows.

Historic Pamplona is renowned for the San Fermín festival, in which the running of the bulls is a main attraction, and is central to Ernest Hemingway’s 1926 celebrated novel The Sun Also Rises. The city is located in a rounded valley – named the Basin of Pamplona – in the beautiful Navarre region, and the rave will take place on the outskirts of this area.

Crystal Fighters will embark on a 70 date world tour later this month, kicking off with a sold out show at Koko on 23rd May, headlining the Festival Republic stage at Reading & Leeds, and ending with a show at Brixton Academy in November.

Full information on the Cave Rave will be announced at a later date. Sign up to receive this news first at
