The Ghosts - Everything Will Do (Single Review)

90’s nostalgia seems to be everywhere lately from E4’s ‘My Mad Fat Diary’ right through to the fashion catwalks. It was a questionable era but one that gave birth to an intelligently named genre of music, the mighty Brit Pop. We love this 90’s renaissance and thanks to The Ghost’s we are loving it just that little bit more. Their latest single Everything Will Do most definitely has a certain 90’s charm about it, plus it’s kind of everything you want and more from a pop/rock track. They waste no time diving straight in with a heavy guitar riff which forms the bones of the track, and is used in a dramatic fashion throughout. Throwing in synths give the track a real edge, which comes to life less than a minute in.

The underlying darkness of the track becomes turned on its head with Alex Starlings vocals becoming light and airy. But, before long we’re brought back down to earth in a spiral of echoing words. It’s really not hard to become lost in Everything Will Do not to mention the lasting impression it leaves behind, in the sense that it’s one of a kind. We suggest you add this to your playlist promptly, it’s brand new (released just yesterday 4th March) and will no doubt be a hit across the festivals this summer.

Also if you’re a fan of American drama’s then you may be interested to know that this gem has been picked up by the ABC Network and will be featured on the show Red Widow.
