Flowers – Young (Single Review)

Flowers bring wistful vocals immersed within instrumental noise, similar to the style of Little Girls, but neither music nor vocals are quite loud enough to take dominance leaving a feeling of slight unbalance. Nevertheless, what you do hear of the vocals is angelically pretty. The captured background noises as previously seen on King Creosote and Jon Hopkins’ ‘Diamond Mine’ make the song seem tangible. Yet, it contains a view wincey moments with the iPhone quality of the recording having more than a few squeaks and bumps which are not pleasant.
