New Video: Jason Lytle – Your Final Setting Sun

Grandaddy frontman Jason Lytle has just released a promo video for his latest single, ‘Your Final Setting Sun’, which is taken from his forthcoming album Dept. Of Disappearance, the follow-up to his critically-acclaimed 2009 album, Yours Truly, the Commuter.

The track is a psychedelic blend of synths, folky guitars, and atmospheric, moody vocals. Bass drums and guitars on the track are supplied by Lytle’s friends from the Swedish band Division of Laura Lee.

Lytle himself describes the song as ‘kind of a fast-paced western synth rock song. It’s the one song on the album that had a film playing along in my head as I was writing it’.

The accompanying music video goes perfectly with the song; a psychedelic and humorous clip about a cult leader who makes it up as he goes along. The video has a hazy, Instagram-like quality to it which suits the dreamlike atmosphere of the song.

Jason Lytle’s Dept. Of Disappearance is released 16th October via Anti-Records.
