Django Django – Hail Bop (EP Review)

Django Django’s new EP ‘Hail Bop’ is like many, a mix mash of different flavors, all a major improvement to the original song. After receiving rave reviews from their self titled debut album; Scottish Indie Rock/Electronic quartet are back soon after their January release, with this questionable EP, featuring 3 remixes of the original song titled ‘Hail Bop’, only one of which is quite catchy, and that is the Daniel Avery’s remix, introducing a catchy bass line opening the song and filling it with a barage of catchy techno doodling, that make the original an unworthy opponent compared to this version of it.

Skies Over Cairo however is more of the kind of song we would hope to expect from the Glasgowers, however still falling victim to the bordom that came along with ‘Hail Bop’, on the flip side though, this song is saved by the chorus that the echos throughout the song, making it the only memorable part of the song.

Over all the EP is like marmite, you either love or you hate it, but I’ll let you be the judge on that one.
