Tellison – Freud Links the Teeth and the Heart (Single Review)

Tellison are a quartet from London, comprising of Stephen Davidson (vocals, guitar), Peter Phillips (vocals, guitar), Andrew Tickell (bass) and Henry Danowski (drums).  Tellison have had a successful start to their career; they were selected as the Myspace Recommended Artist twice and have been featured in numerous TV shows, including The Inbetweeners, Made in Chelsea and Strictly Come Dancing. Furthermore, the band have shared the stage with Biffy Clyro, Mumford and Sons, and Noah and the Whale, and have also released two albums and numerous singles, of which Freud Links the Teeth and the Heart is the latest.

Freud Links the Teeth and the Heart
is a mid-tempo affair. The song has a relaxed feel to it, in some ways describable as the indie equivalent of Jack Johnson. The unusual song features a catch chorus of ‘she says to me: “Please take care of your teeth” / And I say to her: “Please take care of my heart” / Cause my teeth are breaking but my heart is aching for you / Aching for you’. The length of the song, at just 2:46 minutes in length, in addition to its chilled vibe, serves to highlight its suitability for summer playlists.

Tellison are performing numerous dates in the near future. Be sure to catch them at their upcoming performance at Play festival in Norwich on 2nd June, in addition to their concerts at the Hippodrome in Kingston-upon-Thames on 19th July and Truck festival in Oxfordshire on 21st July.
